Hi Gloria, This has been asked before & I think the consensus of opinion was Your Family Tree. If you put magazines into the search box you'll be able to read all the other replies. I subscribe to YFT & read others as & when there are articles I want to read. Vivienne |

no I think the tv programme has encouraged people but I don't know how many will stick with it like us! The trouble with the mags is that there is always just that one article that has to be read and Yes they have to be kept. I did sell 20 consecutive ones on ebay but only so I could justify buying more! |

Nell, they didn't have that one. I am amazed just how many there are, have they all arrived on the back of the TV program? Gloria |

I prefer Ancestors myself, but I only buy magazines if they have articles that will be useful to me. nell |

Hi Jane, We hoard stuff at this house, my husband does not do 'getting rid of', hence the Horse and Hound magazines from 1964!!! I gave up saving them in 2000 and every time I mention advertising them I get every excuse as to how he might want to read them in the future!!! Thanks for the info though Gloria x |

I always got Family History. Then I started Practical family History when it first came out. I found that more helpful for beginers. Now it's usually Your Family tree and any others only if there are articles of use to me. My problem is what do you do with them all? I have stacks and stacks and hate the thought of just throwing them away. I know people sell them on E-bay but I couldn't be bothered packing them and taking them to the post office to post. Jane |

I usually buy Your Family Tree. I think that is the best one. But there are a few others out there. I would just have a look at all of them and judge at the time is my opinion. I tend to buy about 3 a time. Steve |

Which magazine do you think is the best. Been to WH Smith to look for a mag on family history and was amazed to find how many there are. I was completely bamboozled as they all appeared pretty much the same. I ended up buying 'Your family tree' and 'Practical family history' because they contained cd's (not the best way to make a choice). Gloria x |
