I've looked on 1837 for a birth and the only one born in Gloucestershire in the right time to be 21 on the 1861 census, is a Charles Tainton, Cheltenham in the March qtr. of 1840. I can't find any trace of this Charles on Ancestry. Is there any possibility of Henry and the Charles born Cheltenham being the same person - maybe given Henry as a name after registration. Think I am clutching at straws for you here really. Kath. x
