Hi I am hoping to visit Sunderland this summer to do some research but my time will be very limited so I am trying to find out as much information beforehand. Can anyone tell me: (1) where someone might have been buried in 1901 in Bishopwearmouth. (2) where people were buried in Deptford, Sunderland in the 1800's. Many thanks Susan |

I have the National burial index discs, so if you post the name, even just a surname will do and as rough date, I will see if it says where they are buried Lindaa |

The only Bishopwearmouth burials at St Michaels church on my disc are from the 1600's. I looked on the council website for cemeteries in Sunderland, I got there through google. It says they offer genealogical look ups. It would be worth paying for that as trawling large cemeteries on the off chance is often a waste of time. www*sunderland*gov*uk replace* with . Search for cemeteries Bishopwearmouth Cemetery, Chester Road, Sunderland Tyne and Wear SR4 7SU (Grid Reference 437313, 556372) Directions :-Approaching Sunderland from A19, take A183 towards Sunderland.
