Hi George I have just been on there. How cool is that site... I tried searching my relly but couldnt find anything for him so I changed the search and just put Surname in and yrs 1800 - 1900 with no town info...and I got loads...dont know if any related yet. but wrote them down anyway....because we might not know the place they lived in when they wrote the wills etc....So I just looking for towns near where I new they had lived... Thanxs so much for putting this thread up. Regards Lesley :~) |

I have had Wills from them in the past. They are very good. Sent me the wrong one once and I rang up and the right one arrived post haste, with apologies. The wrong one was very funny reading - cut his son off with the proverbial shilling. Shame he wasn't related to me. |

Hi George Many thanks for this tip. Have just been on there and have been able to order wills for both my husband's great grandfather and also an ancestor of my own. Didn't know the site existed before your thread so thank you very much. Dianne |

There's this site with relevant links for Derbyshire researchers. http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/DBY/ProbateRecords/about.html It's not the actual records, like the Cheshire one, but is a step in the right direction. I found it by googling: wills online archives (UK only) Don't know what else is there: perhaps adding a search-term of the relevant county name would be a good idea. Christine |
