Hi. I'm trying to find gggranny's sisters on IGI. May have found possibilities - except for the places. The birthplaces on the census are Spitafield and London; the IGI has Shoreditch. It is in the 1830s. Am I taking a huge leap? Margaret |

Well, they are close together - centres just under a mile apart. I suppose it would partly depend how common or rare her name was as to how much of a leap of faith you should take! Sarah |

Sarah - how about this for common: Father George Dye Mother Sarah Daughters Mary and Susan. On IGI Mary's middle name is Rachel; my granny's name is Rachel, born 4 years after her sister. Susan was still unmarried by the 1881 census; have never been able to find Mary after 1861. Margaret |

I'm not sure I entirely follow that, but certainly the name combinations seem fairly uncommon. Sarah |
