I'm completely stuck trying to find information about my Gt. Uncle, Wilfred Bradshaw's family. He was born in Warrington in 1914 and unofficially 'adopted' by my Gt. Grandmother because his mother Mary Alice Bradshaw was unable to look after him through illness. I have no information about her other than at the time of his birth she was a barmaid and as his birth certificate doesn't have the father's name, I am assuming he was illegitimate. Family recollections, of which there are but a few, suggest she died shortly after his birth. Other than trawling through the BMD in the hope of finding her death certificate, anyone have any other ideas? Peter |

If you do your search using Family Relatives it would (in this case) be quicker and cheaper than 1837online. If you search 1914-1920 (the index only goes to 1920 at present) for her death in Lancashire there are 54 matches. (care, you have to search Mary Bradshaw and then view the results for the middlename). I think 54 matches will cost you 6 credits to view so that's 60p, but the min sub is £6. Hope this helps a bit! I've looked on 1837online for deaths in 1914, 1915 and 1916. The only death in Warrington I can find is:- Dec. qtr. 1916, Warrington, 8c, 189. This is for a Mary Bradshaw age 26, but does not have a middle initial. There is a Mary A. Bradshaw died age 41 in Blackburn:- Sept. qtr. 1916, Blackburn, 8e, 382. Hope one of these is yours.
