Just had a look at Scotland's People and it looks totally different. It looks as though all the same data is there as before, plus wills and inventories which used to be on Scottish Documents (and the wills index search is still free) but they have tried to make it more user-friendly. It looks as though some extra search parameters have been introduced but no new databases yet (apart from the wills). Kate. |

One thing is -your password doesn`t come in after you put your name in. I had to get new one! Rosalyn |

Rosalyn - I think that will be just because there is a different log-in screen, so your computer doesn't recognise it as the one it has saved the password to. Next time you log in it should recognise it. Kate. |

Oh, I see, it's probably like logging onto 1837 online. I didn't actually log into Scotland's People because I haven't got any credits left but as they don't seem to have added any data that wasn't there before I'll wait until they do! Kate. |

If you are having problems with password on scotlandspeople just get them to send your password to you then save the message they send with your password and every time you want to go in copy it and paste it in to password on site this is way I have always done it and never had a problem. Andy the deaths only go from 1855 to 1954 |

If you are ticked as a 'veteran user' in your details you don't get warnings that credits are coming out of your account. I had to go back looking for 5 lost credits. It turned out I had inadvertantly clicked 'previous page', probably thinking it was like a back button, but it was the previous image page of the death I was looking at. SP refunded 10 credits when I sent them an email. |
