Merging Gedcoms

I have kindly been sent several gedcom files by people and can view them individually but does anyone know if it possible to merge the gedcom files with an existing file (i.e. on PAF) so that you don't have to individually input the information manually? Gaynor Ann :-)

If you create a new PAF, you will be able to import each Gedcom. Once this is complete, it will ask you to merge duplicate individuals. Sometimes it doesn't pick all of them up, so I go through manually after I do the auto one.

Thanks Tracy, I will try that :-)

If you have one Tree on PAF and then import another one I find the best way to link is to go to the first File and find the person the new file links to. When you click on, say, Add Father, it asks if new or existing individual. Click on Existing Individual. Then Find the Father in the new file and hey presto.
