So many of viruses about I often delete things even if it says from someone I know. If you dont have email anti virus checker, do download AVG7 free of charge - it stopped a Worm or something the other day in one of my emails.

You aren't the first to be caught by a hoax, there are several around. The best way is not to open any email you don't know who they are from, don't leave you emails so you can view them as they are on the screen. You can check any message by. click once on email so its blue (BUT DO NOT OPEN by clicking twice) click on File top left, then click on properties, then details tab, then bottom right message source, this will let you read the message safely. Saved one or two this way. If there is a message about a virus then you can always check by typing it in your search engine, you should find something and if its a hoax that as well. Will check the above to make sure its ok. I have check this now and its the right way. Irene

Summary of the eRumor An alarming email warning to watch for a virus named 'WTC Survivor', 'WTC', or 'World Trade Center.' The Truth This virus warning is a hoax. It sounds alarming and claims that the WTC virus will erase the entire hard drive on your computer. Some versions warn not to open any files that refer to the World Trade Center. This false virus warning has circulated since 2001, the year of the Attack on America and the collapse of the World Trade Center towers in New York. It tends to circulate freshly each year on the anniversary of the attacks, September 11 (from http://www.truthorfiction*com/rumors/w/wtc.htm) (See also http://antivirus.about*com/cs/hoaxes/p/wtc.htm and http://www.sophos*com/virusinfo/articles/wtc.html) It's early this year ;)

It seems there is a new deadly virus on the loose which can totally wipe out a computer's 'C' drive. If you get an e-mail with subject either 9/11 or WTC (World Trade Centre) survivor, DO NOT OPEN IT! Ann
