help with antivirus please

Sysmantec is the company that run Norton. What OS are you using and what exactly does the box say on it

thanks for that lunar, i know how to do it, i've done it before, i've just done a scan with ad-aware and got rid of what was on it, the screen seems to of stopped flickering and i can search on google again,but i will do the de-frag as well,haven't done it for a while. thanks for your help,chris.

Sound like a bug in the system, could also be low on memery and you need to get rid of any files you don't need. Try defragmenting your computer (if you dont know how give me a shout and I'll talk you through it, you'd need to tell me what operating system you are using)

forgot to mention, when i am changing to different sites my screen flickers a bit.

Before I connected to the internet I was still using my original subscription, a year aftr it expired but I couldn't get any updates

i tried to scan with norton before, and it won't do it! a pop up came earlier today to say i have 31 days left to subscribe again, but i still should be able to use it untill then souldn't i ?? i'm going for the free version of grisoft AVG, i hear it's very good.

Uninstall and then install new software - I had to do that to upgrade my Norton software to a newer version. It sounds like your norton program has a bug.

I would recommend uninstalling it. Norton is a bit notorious for being annoying when doing uninstalling however. Steve

hi, i'm about to change my antivirus, what i want to know is do i have to un-install the one i have now or just disable it? [i have norton ] also, is anyone having probs with the net tonight? everytime i try to search for something or open something in my favs, it shuts down and goes back to the desktop!! chris. ps. everything was fine earlier today!!
