There is a John Collins with wife Jane in Camberwell who's approx. year of birth is given as 1876 in Westminster. He has a 5 year old son called John James. I've saved the image if you think there's a chance he might be yours. Kath. x

Hi Jess - I'm not sure unless there are other factors such as an address that has cropped up before in the family. It was only the address on a previous search that made me realise, a little belatedly, that the person in question was my wallah - totally unexpectedly. Another person I am looking for, an Arthur Dee, showed up as a 'boarder' living with my family member on the 1881. When I got an image of the 1861 he was described as a 'grandson' of the Head of House. And much later I realised that he was a godparent on a family baptismal certificate. So he is definitly one of mine but am having great problems finding GRO details. Mind you, haven't heard neither hide not hair of him since. He wasn't on the 1871 or the 1891 census. Rita

If we find one, either alone or with a wife, how are we going to know it was him? Just a thought...

Hi Jess - Name: John James Collins Born 14.08.1878 Saint Olave, Southwark, Rotherhithe, Surrey Father: Timothy Collins Mother: Elizabeth 58 West Lane, Rotherhithe. London In 1901 he would have been 23/24 years old. He may have married, or be living with his sister Elizabeth - age 20- as they were orphaned by this time. I think that they would be in the Bermondsey, Southwark, Rotherhithe area. I have no address at this time. Cherry Garden Street Street, Bermondsey might figure. or Paradise Street, Rotherhithe. Thanks for your help. Rita

Hi - Are images from the 1901 census only available on the gov. 1901 census site. I know a charge is made for these images. Or does anyone have these images on a CD and who would be willing to do a look-up? Thanks in advance. Rita
