The homeless thread went at 9.45am... just as I was typing a reply into it saying what a great day I was having... silver linings and all that. Now I'm confused totally as to why the thread has gone. I hope you all got the tips and info off it before it went... what a darn pain! I wasn't here last night, so have no idea whats going on... the homeless thread seemed to have nothing offensive on it that I could see.... I'm about as much help as a chocolate teapot here...lol. ChaCha Previously known as Not Really Here... a name that I don't mind anyone else using at all lol (think there was something about that on the homeless thread???)

Ah well, you would think we would be used to it by now, wouldn't you. It would be fascinating to know exactly by whom/why we keep getting targeted in this way, though. In a fit of sheer nosiness yesterday, I ventured onto the General Board to see what all the hoo-ha was about this time. Normally I steer well clear of The Other Place, as I find it too upsetting and go to bed all wound up and distressed, instead of laughing so much I can hardly manage the stairs. However, last night, feling brave, I girded my loins and took the plunge, so to speak. I read one interesting remark about threads being deleted, and the gist of it was that GR do not prowl the threads themselves looking for 'inappropriate' remarks or threads, they only respond to ones drawn to their attention by a member, and then, crucially, they do not read the whole thread, only the bit to which their attention has been drawn. So effectively, someone can take a remark out of context, and get a whole thread removed because of it. On that basis, I bet I could get about 80% of the threads on both Tips and General removed. Not exactly justice, is it?

We have done this, Tom. We kidnapped a well-wishers thread (with her approval) on one occasion, but it still went. Perhaps someone has got tired of putting in any hard work to trace ancestors, and finds it easier to track down revellers instead!
