I have always understood that JOH is short for JOSHUA. John = Jno Jonathan = Jono Joseph = Jos James = Jas Johan/nes is the Latin version of John, so the abbreviation is Jno. Jane = Johanna/h = Jana Marjorie |

Guessing, I'd say Joseph ... also I have seen it used for Johann or Johannah. Regs Jane |
