To be honest its very rare anyone asks me if i am related, i think about 3 people since i joined. Although i am good friends with the very first lady that ever messaged me on this site, we share the same first and second names. i can't wait to have enough surnames in my tree so lots of people can contact me.I must have unusual surnames so far,But i am reading these threads carefully for tips on how to handle the bad mannered ones, if/when they arrive. I would have to go with the happy side of this site. I have never been refused help and only had a few messages unreplied. For those, I would say that it was that the person had not been checking or maybe they were no longer involved with the site. Bob

Pat I know what you mean there. My cousins daughter did that to me

Julie, Even worse is when they dn't seem to want to do any of the searching, and they just copy all the details you give them onto their tree. Pat

Julie, This happens a LOT .... I've come to the conclusion that if indeed we were related, I certainly wouldn't be glad because they're clearly not on the same wavelength! Just take a deep breath - and carry on! There's plenty of 'nice' cousins out there, honest. Regs Jane

When some-one asks you about a name in your tree you help them out as much as possible. Yet when you ask them a question you don't hear nothing back.
