I have just set up my family tree maker 2005, which comes with a free 1 year subscription to ancestry.com one world tree and free 30 day subscription to ancestry.com uk. I want to use my 30 day subscription but do not know how. When I go into start an ancestry.com subscription it only comes up with the one world tree subscription and asks me to subscribe. Is anybody able to help me, this is driving me mad!!! Thank you G

This happened to me too. In the end I subscribed to One World Tree free trial in the hope it would lead me onto Ancestry. But it didn't. So a few weeks later I cancelled One World Tree and low and behold up came the free subscription for Ancestry. I have taken the free subscription and will pay for the year too as it it a reduced fee for England and Wales Census and BMD. I don't know if this will help, but maybe if you suscribed to the OWT Free trial and then cancelled it the same may happen for you. Regards Jill

I have a similar , but slightly different problem. I am already an Ancestry Subscriber, so didn't buy the subcription with my FTM software as it wasn't needed. However, if I try and access Ancestry direct from FTM I get the same message, asking me to subscribe. Anyone any ideas?

I had the same problem I could not get the free trial for ancesrory so I just paid for the year, but like Peter if I try to connect to it from my ftm 2005 it asks me to subscribe - very annoying. So now I just have two windows open and go from tree to ancestry. Julia

Hi Peter, does it not have that little tab that says 'already subscribed? Log In'

TC, oh I haven't seen that. I'll check it out tonight.

Yes - you should try that - I don't have any problems - like you I didn't use the 3 months free trial as I was already subscribed but it links up with no problem. I have to say though, I don't use the link very much as I seem to remember that when I did I got all the american data as well which made it a bit long-winded scrolling through. Dea x
