Thanks I have found most of my miners on most censuses but there are a couple of them missing on a couple of census so I was wondering if it was possible they were down the pit. I forgot that the census was taken on a sunday so they shuld be at home anyway, doh! Thanks Sam x |

I have plenty of coal miners on censuses 1861-1901 in my husband's Welsh lot. Of course census night was a Sunday so theoretically they should all have the day off. nell |

Does anyone know, if a miner was working down the pit on the night the census was taken, would they be included on the census or not? Thanks Sam x |
