1861 Census now covers Surrey, Kent and London and only two William POW showing over ALL the districts available and neither are in the area required. Cannot trace this guy on the 1881 either - or maybe I am going blind ? there are a few POW in Bermiondsey area but none anything to do with activities on the Thames. |

Hi John you can get his fathers name from the marriage cert. The ref. is on FREEBMD On the 1871 he states he was born WALWORTH On the 1861 he states NEWINGTON (i think it is him) You need to find him with his parents in 1841 or 1851 |

IGI doesnt show a William Pow born Rotherhithe 1837 so you are unlikely to determine the parents on that route. Probably means a trip to the LMA. |

If you post this on the Records board, saying here you've looked, someone might be able to help? Christine |

Have you tried the IGI - on the Familysearch.org website? Not every church allowed the Mormons to film their registers and not everything on film has been transcribed, but it would be a start. Otherwise, you need access to the earliest Censuses - 1841/1851. Christine |
