Leeanne I can't access the image, but which town is this - if the street still exists you could find it on www streetmap uk co. Which streets are before/after it on the census? nell

Hi Nell Thanks for replying...The adress in 1891 was 78 Hawksley Rd Hackney....The adress from 1901 seems to be Shelbrook or similar looking in Wandsworth...the parish was St Andrews....but when I try to look up the parish it doesn't co-incide with Wandsworth.....frustrating....

Montmorency

I think it's Skelbrook. Some people used to write a k like that, eg compare with the k in Jenkinson on line 2 or Bricklayer on line 7

Phoenix

Why don't you look to see if it is listed on the enumeration description?

Robin could be on the right track, I've found a Skelbrook Street in Earlsfield west of the A217. Earlsfield is in the London borough of Wandsworth. Skelbrook joins Steerforth St and is between Summerley and Trewint Streets, so if they are nearby on the census, I reckon that's it. Oh, and this might clinch it - the A217 is called Garratt Lane and there's a church on it called St Andrew's. nell

Skelbrook Street is still there today ;;it is in the Earlsfield district of Wandsworth;;;there may have been two main churches and it would have been listed to the one nearest;; but this could differ from census to census;;;and in 1901 the whole street may not have been built;; try doing an address search in 1901;; kay;
