My great grandfather married a widow. In the 1861 census there are 3 step children Margaret aged 7, Frederick aged 5,and Thomas aged 3. They are Appleby. In the 1871 census they are now Dummett, and listed as children not step children. So if anybody out there has lost the children of Julia Appleby nee Spillane, here they are. no wonder we hit brickwalls. Tina |

A useful snippet for someone. We need somewhere to put these sort of snippets - somewhere attached to the name and where it doesn't disappear! I have a single link (third wife of my grandfather) to the APPLEBYs, so I'll copy your message into their history section. Christine |
