Does sound a good possibility. Dont forget that sometimes if one child died, the next poor devil was given the same name which may account for the 4 years (depending on what records you are looking at). |

they were married in 1830ish,i meant the age that William is in 1901 is about 4 yrs different from what he would have been.William was born around 1843/4. William had one son Ambrose who was born in Clifton,Bristol but in 1881 he was living in Portsmouth with one of Williams sisters and theres no sign of William or his wife Sarah. |

Were William's parents married when you found them in 1861? If so wouldn't they bit a bit old to be having a baby in 1897? If the address is the same the William you found could even be the son of the William you were originally looking for. Di |

I've been looking for William Wallis for what seems like forever.i can't find him on 1871,81,91 but have found a William Wallace on 1901.the age is about 4 yrs out but it says he was born in Somers Rd,Southsea.I'm waiting for Williams birth cert at the moment but i do know that in 1861 his parents were livinh in Somers Rd. do you think this could be my William or am i just clutching at straws hoping its him Karen |
