I was going to suggest the onlne route too. The postage is covered at the GRO, and if it's from somewhere else, their website should say about postage.

If your contact has a credit or debit card, he can purchase certificates online for £7. Kath. x

I needed an International Reply coupon for a possible family contact in the States. I walked up to my village PO. The postmistress said “we don’t know about those – go to the crown (town) PO. So I drove, parked, walked, queued and at the hatch asked for the International Reply coupon. “Oh yes,” she said, “I know what you mean, but we don’t have any – there’s no demand” !!! Perhaps he’ll have better luck in Oz! Janet

They are still on the go (us radio amateurs wouldn't be without them). They are worth about 60pence each. You put them IN the envelope you're sending. You send them to the other end, who can cash them at a post office. They get the equivalent of about 60pence back - in their currency - so they can they buy stamps or whatever to post something back to you. Think of them as being a bit like a postal order but in any currency.

You buy them from the post office. They are like a prepaid sticker to put on an envelope. If you are wanting to buy something from someone abroad, you buy one in this country, post it out to them, they stick it on your goods, so they don't have to pay any postage. Linda

Could someone tell me what International Reply Coupons (£7) are and where you get them from. I have just had an e-mail from a contact in Australia asking about them. He wants to purchase some certificates. Thanks Jenny
