Wow! How quick was that! Lunar, I think you have it! She died when baby Emily was one day old, poor soul, leaving six children under ten - how on earth did they manage? I promise I will now put those addys in my favourites, honestly. Thanks everyone Marjorie

Phlegmasia Alba Dolens?? - Thrombosis of veins in the thigh usually seen after childbirth. Death probably resulted from a piece of clot breaking off and moving to the lung (pulmonary embolus)
