Does anyone know where the 'White House ' was in 1870? Was it a public house?

There is a white house pub, scarborough web site, you could contact them Claire http://www.joescarborough(.)com/ remove brackets if not tourist board or library................think web site is probably the best option. Next time I go I'll have a look see what I can find...................going in a few weeks Good luck Ann
