Yes,,, They will not issue a cert where you have given details;ie mothers maiden name,,,the price usually gives 3year search so you will not have to pay any extra;or you could say just the year 1891 dont put 1/4 and give mothers maiden name,,that way you will still be in the 3year search.. Kay. ps,,also that way you will get both other dates checked,,they may charge you for one search,,of £3

I think you would be better just ordering one first giving mothers name as a checking point. If it's the wrong one they won't send it. You will pay £3 search fee but you will get the remainder of your £7 refunded. Then you can order the other one. Kath. x

Kay One is in June 1891 and the other in Sept 1891. So do you think I would be able and order both (stating that I only want one depending on mother's maiden name)? If I do that, will they will charge me twice? I think I'm confusing myself now so hope you know what I mean. LOL! Thanks Lyn

It depends how far apart these other 2 are in years, for you to have to pay for search,,if they are within the 3 years then order both online stating mothers maiden name ,if they dont prove to be correct they will let you know... or just order one at once, with details..that way you will not have to pay any search fee.s Kay.

I ordered a birth cert for John William Owen - Prestwich Sep 1891. I have just received an email from GRO to say it is wrong because the mother's maiden name is not Elizabeth Egerton. I have looked on Ancestry and found two other possibles for him. Can I order online and ask GRO to check both of these or would I need to phone and pay the extra (3 year search) fee? Any advice would be appreciated. Lyn
