Does anyone know of any good sites for checking records of people born in Poland c1890-1915. I already have note of 'JRI-Poland' courtesy of Nell on her Jewish thread, but wondered if there were any others. I am trying to do a family tree for my friend for Christmas and want to get as much info as I can in that time. Margaret

Good morning Margaret, try www.rat.de/kuijsten/navigator/poland/index.html, the word Poland can be replaced with most countries of the world if required. Best of Luck,Derek in France

Hi Margaret Try www(.)genealogy(.)about(.)com (remove brackets) follow the links on the left hand side to 'Genealogy by country', then Europe and Poland. Heather

Thanks for your help. I'd been hoping to get her a fair ways back, but just found out yesterday her paternal grandparents were born in 1895 and 1898 in Poland - curbing my hopes of maybe finding them and their parents on the 1901 census. I have sent for their marriage certificate so that will give me their father's names at least to try for the 1901. Knowing me, I probably have the Polish equivalent of Smith and Jones!! Julie, I have added to the thread you mentioned so I can find it later. Looks promising. Margaret
