Sorry about this but I don't know who else to ask! I have to send an Excel spreadsheet file to someone who only has Microsoft Works software. He can't open it as it stands - is there a format I can save it in that will allow it to be opened in Microsoft Works spreadsheet programme? Sorry this isn't about geneaology - hope you don't mind. Penny D.

Would it work if you copied and pasted onto a word document and then sent it as an e-mail attachment? Beve

You could try Judy in the states, Penelope.she is brilliant. If you don't find out how to do it today, contact me + I'll ask my tutor tomorrow at college. I am doing (trying to!) ECDL. Ann

You should be able to save your Excel file as a .wks file (instead of a .xls file) and then send that to him. He will be able to open this in his Works.

The person you are sending the file to can download and install, for free, an EXCEL reader here: http://www.microsoft(.)com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=c8378bf4-996c-4569-b547-75edbd03aaf0&displaylang=EN Remember to remove the ( ) from the address! Judy :)

Have you tried doing Save as with the file and choosing WKS 1-2-3 as the format? Helen
