I`ve purchased certs from all over the country from different ROs, with the GRO reference code and page number, year and qtr, plus names! All have responded magnificently except 'Winchester'. They say, the info provided is not relevant to their system, go to main GRO! Anyone else had a problem with ROs? Keith |

Keith , I had same problem with Winchester,,,,but when i rang Winchester they explained that some of the records are now in Southampton,,and this i found when i re--ordered so perhaps this is the case with yours,,,.of course GRO Indexes are of no use to any local Reg office,, so perhaps .just dates,& names, will get you there,, Kay. |

Hi Keith, Perhaps if you apply again to Winchester or even ring them they may put you on the right path,,, but if you are 100% sure that the event took place in Winchester or surrounding area apply again_ but just with details .NOT Quoting GRO Index ref;;;local register Offices go by Entry Number in their registers;; Kay, |
