Nothing. Some people refer to their aunt/uncle one generation removed (ie their mum or dad's aunt/uncle) as Great Auntie and others as Grand Auntie. I have always gone for Great-great with aunts/uncles, reserving great-grand for great grandparents. nell

Can you have a great great aunt? I can see that my grand aunt is sister of my grandmother and great grand aunt sister of my g grandmother.

I think Grand aunt is the American version of what we would call great aunt. So a great grand aunt to us would be great great aunt.

Sorry, just been to Morrisons to do weekly shop (groan). Anyway, I think your right Kathleen, I think it's just an American version of great aunt. Iv'e never really thought about it before, I only have now because of what ft2005 says. Just wondered what others thought. thanks you lot :) Maria :)
