What info is on these certs? I know the Scottish ones have the parents names along with the spouse (if spouse is female - includes her maiden name). Margaret |

Margaret, depends when they died. Ones I have from 1860's show when and where died, name, sex, age, occupation (e.g wife of!)cause of death ,description and residence of informant, and when registered on a form similar to birth or marriage cert (horizontal). 1910 one is vertical, basically same info. except maiden name is included, usual address of deceased and qualification and address of informant (e.g. son). Both types have registration district etc. on. Hope that helps, do not have any later ones. No parents names. Michaela |

Michaela, thanks for your reply. Shoot, I was hoping they had the parents names to help confirm or narrow down the list of suspects!! May have to go at this a different way now. Margaret |

The informant can be useful. i just received an 1851 certificate which confirms that i have linked the dead man and sister correctly - as her husband was the informant - I knew who her parents wer so now I know they were his as well (if that makes sense!) So it may give you some useful information. However it may just give info you already have Alice |
