Member Since: June 2003 Posts: 21 Send Message	The 1881 British census says my Great Grandfather Louis Price was born in Prussia, he was 48 in 1881. It also adds that he was a British Subject. Anyone have any ideas if records of that would be kept and where. Any help would be greatly received. thanks Ian Stanford p.s. I've had a look on 1837 not looking helpful. Thanks for the suggestion though. I think i'm dealing with someone who changed their name when they came into this country. ( going by the memories of old aunts)

	His parents could have been working in Prussia - and then would have been classified British subject - only difference being that his parents may have been consular employees, or working for the Brit military together with the Prussians at that time. Have a look and see if his birth is in the 1837online register under Overseas Births.
