YES kathleen, after the initial contact i did contact all 3 again,telling them how i was related, and also giving a bit more info. but i know what your saying..... thanx sam...i didn't think of it that way!!! |

You are very lucky to get three replies from three contacts - people on here send out loads of messages and very often get no response at all. Don't be disheartened, feel happy that at least you have contacted and had confirmation from your relations even if they aren't as enthusiastic as you and spare a though for of all of us who never get any replies! Don't wish to seem harsh Beth, but you say all three replied and then ...nothing. Did YOU then make contact with them again, perhaps offering a small amount of family history information? I have found that you have to give a little bit before you get some information back. If you did get back in touch with them, then I apologise, it's just that your post makes it sound like none of you got in touch with each other after the initial contact. Kath. x |

Beth Anne I was on this site for TWO YEARS before anyone contacted me, and then, like you I found after the initial exchange of info - silence. Bits of genealogy are exciting and fun and bits are disappointing. nell |

after giving this site a rest for a couple of weeks, i came back on and was totally shocked to find 3 different possible rellies had been added. all three replied and confirmed we had the same people in our tree; and then...nothing. well, the first two WERE quite distantly related,so i can accept they might not be interested. but the 3rd was my fathers 1st cousin...am i being too enthusiastic??? |
