Can anyone give me any tips on how to go further? A great aunt Alice Burnham (b1881 Bucks) emigrated after 1901 to Canada (or possibly the states?). She married a man called Cleveland Smith (wouldn't it be!) and had at least two children Gladys and Amy - I have an idea of the names of a few living descendants. I'm guessing she didn't emigrate until c1908. I've had a look on the USA census and not been able to find anything. Anyone got any idea what I should try next? |

Hi Nell I was unsure whether she went to USA first which is why I checked the census - didn't explain very well:) Don't spose you know anywhere I can access the Canadian census? |

Its on www.familysearch.org but I'm not sure which years it covers. You could also have a look for ships' passengers lists, but I think you need to go to Kew to do that. nell |

Hi, The most recent census availabe for Canada is 1901. If they didn't emmigrate until 1908 be kind of hard to find them. Barbara |

Thanks to all - the Canadian census on familysearch and ancestry are too early and also the ancestry records haven't come up with anything:( Never mind - what info isn't there will eventually be available but it's sooo frustrating waiting :) David |
