If I click on 'Show All' what will happen?

Oh, and the symbol is a bin. don't worry if you click on it by mistake, as GR pops up a box that says 'are you sure you want to delete/send X to the bin?' so you can't delete in error. nell |

You can easily (because I've done it!) download a paf file from LDS and then transfer your GR tree to it. I have also just exported my GR tree to my desktop so I have two versions. Plus, of course, you need to copy it to a disc and store the disc safely away from your computer. My back up disks are in a fire-proof box. nell |

Thanks Louise and Heather. Have just realised after reading your replies that the 'Show All' at the top is just the explanation for the + symbol against names. You don't click on the 'Show All' at the top then, just the cross against names? Also, what is the symbol far right in 'my contacts'? Can't make out what it is meant to be. (After the your tree and their tree). Thanks for tip about back up copy. Janet |

Hi Janet 'Show all' will show you all the messages you have sent and received from the person. As for your family tree, you could download the free PAF program from the familysearch site and put your info on there so you won't lose everything if your tree gets deleted from this site. Heather |

Hello, At the top of 'My contacts' it says 'Show All'. Is there more to show? Have read disturbing stories on these boards of lots of things disappearing. What happens if you click on 'Show All' please? Also, how do I get a back-up copy of my tree, not on Genes Reunited? I have only ever had it on this site, but have now read that some people's have disappeared after months of hard work. Have the disappearing trees been resolved or do I need to do a back-up somehow? Does it involve buying a Family Tree C.D.-Rom? Have never used a CD-rom. Thanks, Janet |
