That's the way the internet works, search engines search all webpages for the words you type in, it's nothing to do with security nor is it the 'fault' of the Genes site. If you don't want it showing up in search engines then the only way is to take it off the inetrent wherever it's located. Put my name into a search engine and it will give you all of my details, name, phoner number, address, that's because this information is on our company website. Good luck Ron www.genealogyprinters(.)com

Sorry but I can't see a problem. Surely if you are trying to find the more people who see the message the better.

This site is obviously linked in some way to whatever search engine you are finding this on. I have a fairly unusual name I research too. Whenever I put that in I generally get linked to ones such as Rootschat and rootsweb (often my own threads!). It's never bought me to here, although I haven't tried recently.

Hiyah this happened to me a while back, thought it must have been normal, it was a bit dissapointing as at first I thought I found something about a hard to find grandparent then saw my own name (upset!!!) Germaine

Hi again, Just wanted to warn everyone. I put a message on the trying to find board, as you do! About a week later I was seaching through Google for the Surname I was looking for and I found a link to my message on the GR message board from the internet! I clicked on it and it took me dierectly to my message, which concerns me. I though what I put on this site would not go anywhere else if you know what I mean. Should this be reported ? This indicates that this is not such a safe place as we think! Interesting! Makes me think twice about putting any else on the board. Fiona
