One should never have names of living people on the internet. Once your name, or mine, or anyone else's is on this site, or anywhere on the internet, anyone can use it if so wished! Joy

It is perfectly legal to obtain anyones birth, marriage or death certificate. Great for us doing family history research, but I can understand why it would freak people out too. I have seen a lot of suprised faces when I say I've got this mountain of information Sam

I don't put anyone still living into my GR tree. You must have permission from anyone living to put their names on the site. Identity fraud is a growing problem and if there are people's names and dates of births on a public forum such as this then it would be possible for someone to obtain the information Lou

My aunt has been quite helpful with my tree until she found i was putting it on to this site and she has asked for it all to be removed! She said putting details of people on site for all to see askes for fraud!? Can you obtain other peoples birth certificates etc........????????
