Ive had broadband for months with Wanadoo but son has a PS2 in his bedroom that he bought a router for, so it can be networked from this pc in the office. I think it took me 7 hours last time! Anyway, Ive given up on that bit at the moment, got new puter up and running and shocked to find all my outlook express mails disappeared but luckily old computer still must have them on the hard drive. JUST this minute put on my FT2005 program and heart in mouth fed in my back up cd - woo hoo, its all still there. But having probs with my AVG7 not monitoring mails at the moment, probably cos Ive downloaded zonealarm. Didnt someone say the Microsoft have a free firewall now? My gawd, arent this new puters small and slim?

My son is now employed in IT . He used to love messing with the 'puter - and many is the time he DID mess it up! Now he knows what he is doing he HATES messing with them and lets me know in no uncertain terms - and when i mess it up trying to mend it he says 'why didn't you wait for me to do it?' But recently he bought ne a new 'puter and set it up - lovely! The man in the shop was right though - he did burn e-mails on CD so I still have them - But I neglected to tell him about my Family Treemaker fioles - all gone! Guess its us against the 'puter and we can't win ... Alice

Well, in to my third hour trying to sort this out. Got beautiful flat screen computer but still not able to network through a router and guys, you lose all your emails when you get a new puter - I thought they just floated in cyber space, but no, the nice young man at wanadoo says I should have burned them on to a cd. Scream. Meanwhile youngest son whinging cos he cant play on his PS2, makes you wonder why you bother, doesnt it.

Good luck babe! I'm totally untechnical as well (had to get 16 year old to change printer cartridge the other day!) If you're not back in a week, we'll send in the Mounties! Lou
