Hi all, horrible wet day today, but it looks like as though its going to clear up. After the chaos of waiting anything up to 9 weeks for a simple birth certificate etc, and writing to complain about the poor service, then receiving a two page letter full of reasons why, and telling me that 'they have no statutory obligation to provide certificates for family historians' I decided to order from SOUTHPORT over the net. now instead of waiting months, I now wait 4/5 days at the most. BRILLIANT is the word Im thinking of. The LPOOL CITY COUNCIL have in the last 4 months LOST £70, and this at a time when they are trying to tax chewing gum to clear up the mess of the streets. 1p a packet I believe is the asking rate for tax. On that basis along 700 packets of gum would have to be sold to make £70. It beggers belief. ANYWAY, WELL DONT SOUTHPORT. KEEP IT UP. TED. |

Hi Ted I've just ordered 4 certs online and have been given an estimated delivery date of 26 May. That's about the norm for me but I have seen threads on here that say they have received certs in 3-4 days. Am I missing something? MW |

Julie I used to use Salford and Manchester RO. When I first started out I ordered my uncle's birth cert with a date on (29 February as we knew for sure he was a leap year 'baby'). Salford phoned me to tell me the details didn't match but said they couldn't tell me why. I asked if the date was one day either side and they confirmed this so I asked them to send the cert. It was the correct one and had 1 March on it. Obviously, the Reg Office had not realised it was leap year!! MW |

mystery woman, hi. what made you pick that name? Well thats not bad sending for 4 certs and getting a date of 25th MAY when you consider its 20th MAY now. you dont live overseas do you? Theres bound to be a slightly longer time period in that case. Take care TED XX |
