Thank you for that, Judith. Although the list of counties for the 1841 census is not of great use to me I think that some of the other stuff may be of interest. I might give it a 72-hour whirl and see what I can find. Thanks again and best regards. Angela

It depends very much on what part of the country you are interested in I think. I have used it a couple of times recently (72hr subs each time) because they have the 1841 census for Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. On the other hand I subscribed a year or so ago and found nothing of use to me at that point. Here's what they have on offer at present: Census records England & Wales Census 1841 Counties: Cambridgeshire, Devon, Essex, Gloucestershire (includes Bristol) and Suffolk. England & Wales Census 1871 Counties: Glamorgan, London-Kent, London-Middlesex, Middlesex (ex Metro), London-Surrey, Surrey (ex Metro) and Wiltshire. Can anyone tell me whether British Origins is worth subscribing to? It seems fairly expensive. I am already a member of Ancestry and wondered whether British Origins has a great deal more than Ancestry has.
