Hi Amanda Are you trying (.)com or (.)co(.)uk? The only reason I ask is because if you want to subscribe via their UK site, it seems very mean of them not to take a UK cheque! The only other thing I can suggest is do you have a friend with a credit card who would pay for you, then you pay them back? Good luck! Mandy :)

Amanda I'm in a similar posission as ancestry(.)co(.)uk won't accept my credit/debit card because it's part of the switch family, I'm having to rely on the kindness of others for some of my info but I have access to other site that other people have not subscribed to.

My only groan is at Ancestry !!! I normally make a request for help on the records board and the people on GR have been wonderful, especially Jess and Victor to name just a couple who always seem to find an answer for me. There have been loads of kind people who help as well. Even had a offer of help sent to me tonight in responce to this thread. Your a star :) Would love to look for myself without feeling a burden, and help others like people have for me.

Just beware if you get a friend to pay by credit card and pay them back that Ancestry will want to take your renewal automatically from the friend's credit card too!!!

Amanda, have you tried e-mailing them to see if there is another way for you to pay? Maggy
