It may help your searches to know that people who were executed this way were hanged not hung. Bob

1890 Wrights Directory HM Prison,Hucknall Road,Nottingham. 200 men 50 women Governor-Capt J.J.C, Smail Chaplain-Rev Henry Mansell Cheif Warder-Mr Lawrence Surgeon-Mr H.O.Taylor Matron-Miss Clayton www(.)historicaldirectories(.)org Also hangings at Newgate Prison, will try to find list and update message.

Hi there I have just learnt that either my great or great great grandfather was hung but, I do not know his name -my grandfather was illigitimate and took his mothers name. He was born in 1861 any ideas of where to look ie when the last hangings were in nottinghamshire thanks sheila
