Just a general question really. I am now 'stuck' on about five lines, I have managed to check and confirm all 16 of my gg grandparents and 16 of my ggg grandparents, but I now have a list of about 12 certs that I need to confirm/supply info to carry on. My question is, on a limited budget, how would you decide which ones to order - my credit card won't take that much punishment in one month!!!!! Any suggestions gratefully received. Trudy |

I usually buy certificates for the branches that I have least information on, so that I can try to keep going back to a similar generation on most of the branches of my tree. Sometimes though, it just depends on what information you find and sometimes on one particular branch you find a lot of informtion all at once so you tend to carry on with that one until you run out of steam or the clues dry up. Trudy I just buy two a month starting with the ones who will give me the most new info ie parents or partners and low priority are the ones who will just confirm what you already know but you need to confirm sources. Hope this helps I know its hard when you want them all and now!!!! But your card will love you more for it. Best wishes Jenny |

Thanks to both of you, to complicate matters I am really getting stuck into my dad's side of the family (I am the oldest left, so I have no one to ask), but the one remaining aunt on my mum's side keeps asking how I'm getting on and she's really only interested in 'her' lines, so I always feel guilty if I haven't done anything on there for a while!!! Never mind you can't win all the time! Trudy |
