Is there any way to find records of my uncle? I believe he served in Burma during WW1 or WW2 whilst in the TA?

If he was a member of the TA prewar he would have been 'called up' to serve in the regiment of which his TA unit was a part and have army records of service, pay books, release books etc just like those of regular soldiers. If he served in WW1 your best bet would be to access the Medal Cards on the National Archives site, if he had a a fairly uncommon name this may enable you to find a regimental number for him, but if he served in WW2 I believe you have to apply to the MOD for service records and prove you are next of kin (or get the next of kin's permission at least).
