I can also sympathise with Maureens problem. I had exactly the same thing happen to me. Lost all data from the hard drive and had not backed up to CD. Fortunately I had an up to date version on tribal pages which was a life saver. Nedless to say it is all backed up now. Regards Shona |

It's probably the best site to display your tree, even the free version.Used it for ages. Bob |

I'm just uploading mine to there now! I don't have the facility to back up to CD and I've tried saving a copy to Floppy this afternoon and it says there's not enough space on the disc! |

Lunar I'm useless with all this bytes, mb and kb. How do you work out how many MB your file was from the bytes????? Lou |

I've used Tribal Pages for quite a while too and love it! It's great to have an address to pass on to family members so they can have a look at what you've been up to. Jeanette x |

When I cheaked the file was in GEDCOM format the size of the file popped up aswell - if your using the free site you can only upload a file up to 40MB so be careful, my file only had about 250 people but was 32.4 MB. the conversion is 1KB = 1014 Bytes 1MB = 1014 KB I think 1GB = 1014 MB and 1TB = 1014 GB I could have the last 2 the wrong way around. The normal estimate is 1000 bytes => 1kb and so on. |
