Is there Australian Census's?

Just wondered if there were australian census's taken? Any one with details please help

Hi Steve, Afraid not..I googled just to be sure, but they only keep basic Statistics and no names. Same situation in NZ.(Ichecked this whilst visiting) I think that this is also the case in Canada but theirs may be somewher in between UK and Aus/NZ systems Regards Jane

Located this on 'records office' posted by Richard Platell under title 'Australian Census' - 'check this site for pre 1901 census that may be available, they are not online and would require a lookup in library from GC member' www(.)users(.)on(.)net/~proformat.census(.)html Hope this helps
