Help reading certificate please

Received grandfathers certificate today but can't read his rank or profession. Residence is Preston Barracks. I can read 'The Army R. T***' Any ideas anyone? PLEASE Linda

I don't suppose he is on any of the censuses, so you can read his profession that way.

You may want to ask Peter Walker this one. Or try googling the barracks and see what regiment was there. Actually I just had a quick google and if you put in Preston Barracks history a fab site comes up with photos and lots of info. Didnt realise Preston Barracks were near Brighton.

What's his name? Is he on a census with the same profession, so we could perhaps have a look. Kath. x

Hi Kathleen he was only born in 1889. so can't find out anything from that. They are a completed lot. I have yet to find anyone living with their parents, nearly always with grandparents, They all seem to have stepmothers or fathers. As my husband said ' what's new' they are all like that now, lol Linda
