Ann Elizabeth GILLARD. ......................I have her on the 1851 & 1861 census. She was born 25 May 1849 St george in east London. Her father John b 1799 was a docker from Plymouth he was dead by 1861 . Her mother Ann ( nee Cohen ) a widow in the 1861 census was b 1815 westminster london, her occuaption recorded as a Shirt Maker . Ann , her daughter Ann Elizabeth and son Henry b 1847 are all found living in st georges in the east. I can not find Ann elizabeth GILLARD on 1871. She marries Michael daniel Coone in 1874 and they aren't traceable on the 1881 census eiher. I later find her on 1891 & 1901. I have searched under Annie, Anne, Elizabeth , Betsy , Eliza, Gilard, Gilart. .......... one L .......two LL's......any other ideas? as i can not find her: (((

Deborah, There's an Eliza Gillard listed on 1871 as a visitor age 23 at ? House Gt Malvern, Worcestershire. Born Spittalfields London. Don't know if it's of any use? RG10 / 3053; Folio 85; page 4 X Sioux

Hi Steve ........... thanks for the look up however i do have her marriage cert to Michael in 1874.......I just want to find her on the 1871 census. I've tried just using her first name and middle name and no surname on Ancestry to see what it throws up. This is the closest I have come to her: Annie Gillard 1848 Plymouth, Devon, England Servant Twickenham Middlesex But I'm not sure!! Why in all other census would she record herself as born in St George in east ( as is her BC ) and then just the once say Plymouth ( her fathers pob ) ?? She's out there somewhere..... I just want to know what other tricks to use to unearth her lol

Someone did suggest that maybe in 1881 the family came to Ireland as Mary Ann Coone as of yet has no Birth reg . I live in N.Ireland and nothing turned up at the PRONI......All this aside Ann elizabeth GILLARD would have been in England in 1871. What other variants can we think up for GILLARD?!?!

Rethinking the marriage Steve has found too............she could have been married before couldn't she? Off to look at this possibility too. Thank you Sarah, Steve and Sioux

Sioux Checked out the Eliza Gillard you found and in 1861 she is still in Malvern: Eliza Gillard 1848 Islington, London, England Cousin Great Malvern Worcestershire Thus not my Gillard sadly !! Julie Great idea..........however the only Nancy I could find was a nancy guillard from the channel Islands.......but did give me a new variant spelling to try out : )) Thank you .
