Hiya, you could also try the Trades Union Congress site for info. My gggfther was also a Union Leader around then and I've found a few bits about him just by googling his name. I have a fab book called The Peoples England which is about English 'working classes' from the time of land enclosure onwards. Looked up 'fur' but no mention. If you get any more info I'd be happy to look things up for yu. Good luck, Jen. (mine was a miner's union bloke)

Several universities have good collections. It may be the University of Warwick. Try this link and see where it gets you: http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/services/library/mrc/holdings/resources/labour/

Hi everyone, I have just discovered that my great grand father was something of a bigwig in the union from around 1890-1920. He was a highly respected member of the fur dressers trade union and I have been told that he had his picture taken at the turn of the century with all of the other members of this trade union. Does anyone know if there are any records of union membership that would cover this trade and this period of time? Thanks for any help.......Lauren
