According to my map, Allington in Lincolnshire is near to Grantham, and it is very close to the border with Leicestershire and not far from the border with Nottinghamshire. Similarly, Pinxton is in Derbyshire but right on the border with Nottinghamshire. Kate. |

Trying to trace William Clay born c 1852 Allington. 1901 census says Allington Derbyshire, 1891 Says Allington Len, 1881 says he was born in Grantham Lincolnshire and 1871 says Allington Leicestershire. In 1861 he was a servent in lincolnshire. Judging by his wife and children I think it is the same person, but can anyone tell me where Allington actually is and how many there are ? Thanks Magsxx |
