Hi SHaron, Found this web page that lists all the area offices http://www.lawontheweb*co*uk/basics/probateoffices.htm Just change the stars to dots. Was wondering if anyone knows, does it cost to have them look for a will for you? I have death dates but would have no idea wether a will was left. XX Sioux

Thanks for your suggestions, I was clearly not awake this morning, otherwise I would have thought to look at the letting started pages! I know that she definitely left a will as someone I was in contact with said that they had a copy. First thing on Monday I'll be posting my request to York. Thanks again for your responses! Sharon :o)

Sharon, do you know she definitely left a Will? If not, you can look through the probate index at your biggest local library. I was very disappointed that although my GGF, GGFx2 and GGFx3 all ran successful businesses apparently not one of them left a will for me to peruse.

If you go to your homepage (here on Genes), and click on 'getting started', it will tell you about wills. Kath. x

Hello! Can anyone point me in the right direction to help me find the will of my GG grandmother Emma Hales? I know she died in Teyham, Kent in 1937, and she definitely left a will, but I have no idea where to go from there. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Sharon
