i am really happy i have just found my great grandfather x4 ( james morgan) in the victoria county history of essex volume 2 . all because non attendance as petty juror. found this on essex county council web page. friday 13 turned out to be a good day louise |

Louise Although yours sounds like a genuine find, it is important to remember that the Victoria Histories were sometimes wishful thinking rather than fact. They were written with the Gentry in mind and therefore miss out anything 'awkward' or 'unpleasant' and often relied heavily on information given from the Gentry regarding their family history.
